Cheryl King left her 13-year career as a national touring stand-up comic in 1995 to write a solo show, "not a nice girl". In the 10 years since then, she completed that show, with successful runs in LA, NY and Ft. Collins, CO, and has become a respected acting coach and producer of solo shows in NYC. She is artistic director of the NY Solo Play Lab, Funny Women Fest, Sola Voce:Estrogenius at ManhattanTheatreSource and co-artistic director of the Midtown International Theatre Festival. She also teaches writing, acting and comedy workshops in NY, LA, Chicago, and in Denmark. She is active in women's causes, as an organizer of V-Day Events and an advisory board member of ARIA, Awareness of Rape and Incest through Art.
