She is currently co-writing, with Rod Menzies, a play called "Arturo's Window" based on the true life story of John Jerome, and putting finishing details on a playwriting book, both to be completed in the fall of 2005. She is a contributing writer to "The Soul of the American Actor" and a member of the Dramatists Guild.

She created and teaches four workshops, The Body Language Workshop, Writing Your Heart Out and the Stand-up Comedy Workshops and the Solo Show Series, in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago.

She currently assists nationally-acclaimed acting coach Carol Fox Prescott.

In addition, she is collaborating on a book about solo show creation with Rod Menzies, well-respected drama coach from LA, and director of her solo show.

Cheryl King left her 13-year career as a national touring stand-up comic in 1995 to write a solo show, "not a nice girl".
In the 10 years since then, she completed that show, with successful runs in LA, NY and Ft. Collins, CO, and has become a respected acting coach and producer of solo shows in NYC.  She is artistic director of the NY Solo Play Lab, Funny Women Fest, Sola Voce:Estrogenius at ManhattanTheatreSource and co-artistic director of the Midtown International Theatre Festival.
She also teaches writing, acting and comedy workshops in NY, LA, Chicago, and in Denmark. She is active in women's causes, as an organizer of V-Day Events and an advisory board member of ARIA, Awareness of Rape and Incest through Art.
